Lying Through His Teeth

With the general election coming upon us in less than a month away, we are bombarded by political ads on TV.  When we watched the Obama’s ad we explained to Tryphena who he is, and likewise when McCain’s ad came on air we told her what his name was.

We often times marveled how a two-year old child can follow adult conversations.  Here were the conversations that took place in our house lately. Continue reading “Lying Through His Teeth”

Pismo Beach

dsc01250.JPGJust got back from Pismo Beach. We left on Wednesday, 4/16 and spent a couple of nights there. Tryphena had been very excited since Saturday about going to the beach. She wanted to bring everything “to the beach”- all of her toys, books, tricycle, and even Duke. 🙂 It was her first time going to the beach, and her face lit up when we got there. We spent a little over 2 hours on the beach on Wednesday before heading back to the hotel and called it a day.

On Thursday morning we went to Moro Bay and we fed seals there. We also had lunch there, and then went South to Solvang. We strolled the stores, ate pastry and ice cream and then went back to Pismo to spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach. We bought dinner at Thai Talay and ate at the hotel. “Ma… Pray, Ma!”

We pray with Tryphena every night before bed, and we say grace before every meal. We also teach her to pray when she hurts. I give much credit to Indra for building her prayer life. As the Heidelberg Catechism Lord’s Day 45 Q&A 116 teaches: “Why is prayer necessary for Christians?” Because it is the chief part of thankfulness which God requires of us, and because God will give His grace and Holy Spirit to those who earnestly and without ceasing ask them of Him, and render thanks unto Him for them. Painting

dsc00889.JPGI started painting the family room after church today. Tryphena was helping me. At first she said, “no…no….no….. see aja (only)” But then she couldn’t resist it. See more pictures in the Photo Album section.

Hospital Visits

November is not a good month for us. We went to the ER three times to bring Tryphena.

Tryphena at Children’s Hospital

The first time we went to the ER on Friday the 9th for bacteria infection and high temperature (104+). They admitted us right away due to the fear that it was MRSA infection and it could spread to other organs. We stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and were discharged on Sunday afternoon. Ducks Feeding

P1020339.jpgIn September we went to the Woodward Park in Fresno twice to feed the ducks. We brought bread that Indra had cut the night before, and we fed the ducks with bread. I uploaded some pictures from the both visits in to the “Photo Album“.

More Video Clips

Some more video clips were uploaded. For now there are three video clips available:

Selling candles: A 3-minute clip where Tryphena was being trained in the candle business. She was able to identify and correctly picked some scents.

Oatmeal: A short clip where Tryphena is eating oatmeal by herself. Watch how she uses the spoon. 🙂

Ghost: (In Bahasa Indonesia) Tryphena runs around pretending that she’s a ghost. We also asked her names of family members such as grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunt, etc.
