2008 is almost over, and we are thankful for this year. It’s been a busy year for us.
We started the year by moving to a new church-facility. After renting a school for so many years we decided to move to another facility where we can have access 24/7, and we started the first service in 2008 at the new building.
Tryphena loves to read and she comprehends most of our conversation. She also started swimming lesson last Spring. She loves animals and we went to Petsmart almost every Saturday from January until about August. She loves to watch the grooming salon, reptiles, mice, hamsters, fish, and just about everything there.
She also likes medical terminologies. At 2 years of age she already knows medical terminologies that I didn’t even know such as emesis, spigmomanometer, and otoscope. She also knows pediatrician, stetoshcope, radiology, x-ray, and bunch of other medical terms. She knows those terms after spending several nights in the hospital last year. She also loves to pray and many times she reminded us to pray for friends that are ill. We plan to start catechizing her in January after she turned 3. It is such a great joy to see her grow!
Indra has been busy with Tryphena. She teaches her many things and reads her many books every night. Once a week they went to the Little Gym and to the library to borrow books, videos, and to listen to the story telling. She also developed cluster headache, and the doctor was unable to treat it. Because of her busy schedule and her health situation she was unable to concentrate on Glowingscents.
Hizkia is busy at work and with his freelance. He accumulated many vacation days over the years that he was unable to use because of his workload. He was forced to use most of them before July 1 next year, so he is looking forward to having some 40+ vacation days between now and July all thee while thinking how he will be able to perform his full time workload with near part time capacity.
In Summer gas price went to the roof, and we bought an old Civic to save gas. He also installed an HHO unit but sadly, it’s never really completed. In Summer we also went to the Bay Area, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Disneyland when Hizkia’s sisters came to visit.
In November Hizkia’s parents came from Indonesia and they’re staying until January. We had Thanksgiving together, and we went to Rancho Mirage in early December. We just got back from Lake Tahoe last Friday.
It’s been a busy year but we’re grateful to God for many blessings he has bestowed upon us. At this solemn season as celebrate Christmas we are grateful for the miraculous birth of Christ, his perfect live, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection. We are thankful for the redemption found in him and him alone.
We also thank you for your friendship. Hope that our friendship will grow stronger next year. Send us e-mails and pictures. Visit this blog often, and call us! We love to hear from you!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
-Hizkia, Indra, and Tryphena.
