Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween weekend was filled with many activities: Buying a pumpkin, Halloween parade at Tryphena’s school, Reformation party at Stan’s ranch, and handing out candies to the neighborhood kids.

We started a week before by going to a pumpkin patch to buy a pumpkin. We had been going to the same pumpkin patch for the last three years, and it’s a blessing to see how Tryphena has grown. Click here to see her pictures in the last two Halloweens.

1st Day of School

Yesterday, September 3rd was Tryphena’s first day of formal education, pre school to be exact. We enrolled her at Fresno Montessori School, and we had been waiting anxiously for this day. Finally it was here! I took a day off and took her to her school. What an exciting experience! The video clips below are the same. Cat Haven

We went to the Cat Haven Wild Animal Park in Dunlap this morning. It is about 45 minutes Southeast of Clovis. There are many cat families there, and Tryphena was delighted. The guided tour lasted about an hour over one half a mile path. Click here to know more about this privately run cat survival project.

Lake Tahoe in Summer

We just got back from a 5-day vacation to Lake Tahoe and Reno! It was a nice vacation and unlike last Winter when we went there, this time the weather was cooperating. Please visit the Photo Albums section for the pictures.

In Tahoe we took a 2-hour cruise where we could see the magnificent scenery around the Lake. However, we made a mistake by sitting on the upper level where the view was blocked by the windows; thus, preventing us from taking clear pictures. About half time I moved to the deck and was able to snap some good pictures. We went to the Emerald Bay where the view was so grand. We also got to see the Vikingsholm castle at the head of the bay. According to its official website, the castle was built and completed in one Summer, and it is considered one of the finest Scandinavian architecture in the US. Swimming Lesson Videos

Swimming Lesson

Tryphena started swimming lesson again last week at Amy Morris Swim School, a private swim school in Clovis. At the first meeting Tryphena was not afraid to put her head under the water, and during the 2nd lesson she was not afraid to jump into the water, and she was able to float. I hope that at the end of the 10th lesson she will be able to swim by herself.

So far she has taken two 30-minute lessons and I was impressed with her progress!

Merry Christmas From the Gunawans

Dear Family and Friends,

2008 is almost over, and we are thankful for this year. It’s been a busy year for us.

We started the year by moving to a new church-facility. After renting a school for so many years we decided to move to another facility where we can have access 24/7, and we started the first service in 2008 at the new building.

Tryphena loves to read and she comprehends most of our conversation. She also started swimming lesson last Spring. She loves animals and we went to Petsmart almost every Saturday from January until about August. Almost Three

I can’t believe that Tryphena is going to be three this January. It seems it was just like yesterday when she was born, and now here she is….. almost three already.
